You, friends and family members are welcome to march or roll with SSG and/or wear Pride edition merch no matter how you identify. We appreciate all the queer people AND allies that make SSG such a welcoming group for so many.

To find a rough approximation of where we are meeting to line up, you can put 561 Solar Street, Syracuse, NY in your GPS!
Lineup Info:
We will be close to the front of the parade in the lineup in Position #3, between the Jeep representing CNY Pride in Position #2 and Jimmy Monto, Mayor Owens and the Chief of Police in Position #4. The Jeep in front of us will serve as a pace car to help us maintain an ideal speed to skate in the parade. Skaters, it’s very important to note that it is critical we keep a manageable pace for the parade, so you must have the control to be able to do that. Picking a walking buddy to help you control your speed is highly encouraged! We don’t recommend skating in the parade if you don’t have experience with uneven terrain, obstacle avoidance, and/or are not comfortable stopping and falling safely. The parade route is only 0.75 miles long, but between waiting for the parade to start in the staging lot and the slow-moving nature of the parade, you’ll likely be on skates for about 2 hours, so make sure you’re comfortable with that as well.
Meet Ariel/Havoc and her partner Jazzy at the Parade Staging lot at 10AM. Ariel/Havoc is 5’5, plus-size with curly light brown hair and tattoos of marine life. Jazzy is 5’7 and gorgeous with grayscale tattoos and vibrant green hair.
It’s currently forecasted to be a beautiful, sunny day with limited precipitation, with a predicted high of 84º, so as usual, it’s going to be HOT!!! Please remember that the parade staging area is a large, unshaded parking lot. Make sure to hydrate and have a good meal prior to arriving, and apply sunscreen.
Havoc will have a limited amount of bottled water and sunscreen on hand for participants to use, as well as rainbow Syracuse Skate Gay stickers to hand out to the crowd, and a large Syracuse Skate Gay vinyl banner for people (volunteers needed–preferably walkers!) to carry.
Shoe/Belongings Storage for the Parade:
We’re still looking for two volunteers to help us with shoe/belongings storage during the parade:
- One person willing to store shoes and belongings in their car and park at the end of the parade route in the inner harbor area by Meier’s Creek/Iron Pier (skaters are responsible for carrying their own skates and gear afterwards, and you are not responsible for storing anyone’s belongings after the parade/for the duration of the festival)
- One person who could follow that person in their car and give them a ride back to the parade staging area
These volunteers would need to arrive shortly before 10AM with a deadline of 10:15 for skaters to put their belongings in their car.
If we secure a volunteer for shoe/belongings storage and you would like to store your things in their car, arrive promptly at 10AM SHARP. If you arrive after 10:15AM, you will not be able to store your stuff in the car, so please arrive on time if that is your intention; otherwise, plan to wear a bag or backpack to bring your shoes and belongings with you, as the festival is 0.75 miles from the Parade Parking area. Please note that you are responsible for carrying your skates and gear after the parade concludes.

If you are able and would like to help offset the costs of our parade participation including registration, decorations, water and Syracuse Skate Gang Pride stickers to hand out, feel free to contribute any amount to Havoc Baldwin (Ariel Servadio) via Venmo (@ariel-servadio) or PayPal (aservadio@gmail.com).
PLEASE NOTE: Contributing any amount is not a requirement for joining us in the parade, and this is simply included because people ask about it every year. Havoc is happy to front these costs in gratitude for you helping make Skate Gang the wonderful community it has become.
Syracuse Skate Gang Annual Pride Glow Skate

We’ll be celebrating PRIDE on wheels Wednesday, June 17th in the NYS Fairgrounds Orange Lot off the OLP West Shore trail (490 Restoration Way).
Drive all the way through the lot off exit 7 of 690 to section G5 by the amphitheater.
Feel free to bring snacks, drinks, chairs and allllll the rainbows and lights!
